Tiga Lapis Makna Puisi ‘Aku Berkaca’ Karya Chairil Anwar

Interpretation is the art of seeking meaning just as the author originally intend- ed. In the process, the author’s intent becomes the key of which among many towards an interpretation. Each interpretation requires the interpreter to enter the author’s mind and identify with the author, achieve total experience or repeat the global experience of the author and enter the realm of his emotions. Chairil Anwar’s ‘aku Berkaca’ is an interesting text offering a rich depth of meaning to be drawn from. There are at least three layers of meaning contained within the poem, namely the context layer, the sound layer, and the meaning layer. These three layers of meaning usher the reader towards the climax indeed the climax as the author intends is a message and meaning in of itself.

Grasping an image of peace by way of pop songs is certainly a challenging alter- native for anyone. Nonetheless these unassuming lyrics contain both dreams and inspi- rations to strive better for a lasting peace to be realized. The image of peace is revealed metaphorically within the lyrics and rhythm of pop songs, ergo one must first require the ability to fully comprehend said metaphors. Such Images of peace provide powerful catalysts of inspiration for listeners, which they in turn are animated to create the same images of peace. Songwriters in this regard are no less heralds envisioning and of more import contributing to the cause through their chosen media of lyrical.

Autentisitas Manusia Menurut Albert Camus

Humanity is unable to achieve grasp over the world so filled with mysteries. As a result, his life becomes limited. Although Humanity continues to hope, his limitations however see to it that human hope can crumble at any given moment. Based on these facts, human life becomes an absurdity. The absurdity of life throws man into an existence of the incomprehensible mystery of life. Albert Camus offers a way of life (modus vivendi) for him to survive this absurdity. He offers the authenticity of human life. This authenticity enables us to live as homo vivens. Homo vivens refer to those who live according to their true vocation as creators and directors of their own lives.

Ever has man sought happiness to enrich his days, to such lengths that twould not be an understatement to state happiness is his life’s goal. Aristotle defines happiness as eudaimonia, a goal which must be achieved by any means, whilst Harari offers the definition as a process of knowing oneself but even so a meeting point between the two I claim may be possible particularly in this day and age in order to seek and achieve hap- piness. As one may derive from the meeting point, both agree happiness is not limited to the simple fulfillment of physical needs. Happiness possesses an internal dimension, wrought once one lives a wholesome existence in concord to ones vocation.

Konsep ‘Imago Dei’ Emmanuel Levinas
Vinsen, Yohanes E.
Levinas
Imago Dei
wajah
eksistensialis
One’s Identity is a vital component of a human life. Identity is important, es- pecially considering when oneself is sometimes subjected to the judgment of others. Emmanuel Levinas initiated the concept of the ‘Imago Dei’ to reduce negative judgment whilst simultaneously elevating individual uniqueness based upon our natures as im- ages of God. The idea of ‘imago Dei’ manifests in one’s face. Our visage then becomes a non-verbal media of communication akin to a conversation expressing one’s identity whereas a dialectical exchange would otherwise prove cumbersome. An understanding of the ‘imago Dei’ brings people towards the awareness of their statuses as God’s cre- ations, creations most associated with Him to the extent he deigned designated them His very images.

Who-Man: Redefinisi Konsep Manusia dan Teknologi dalam Terang Pemikiran Jean-Francois Lyotard

Technology continues to develop over time, from the Stone Age to the present day. Humans originally were the subject of creators and users of technology now feel threatened because they have degenerated into simply objects to technology. In other words, human dignity itself is threatened. According to Jean-François Lyotard, it can even be said of humans that we too are some form of technology, technology consisting of intelligent organ systems which have certain functioning mechanisms and that which work together to form an individual. Humans can not claim to be the most dignified of all creatures; we are but technological beings, motes of a much grander technological universe. Everything that which humanity creates and strives for, such as that of tech- nology, comes into its existence solely not of our own merits of skill or dignity, but rather due to humanities role as participants of a moving universe.

Focus of this paper is to find the face of the relationship between ‘I dan Others (Liyan)’ in Lejong culture of Manggaraian society. The methodology which we use is a critical reading of the rites contained in Lejong culture using the concept ‘framework I’ by Armada Riyanto, Indonesian philosopher. This study found that, ‘framework I’ make possible the relationality between I and Others (Liyan). The relationship between I and Onthers (Liyan) in Lejong formed by equality principle. The equality of I and Others (Liyan) in Lejong shown by placing the others as ite and toe ata bana. It means that the other is he who is respected, recognized and valued as being as dignified as ‘I’. The recognition of this equal dignity shown by the rites used to welcome guests, namely reis, raes and raos. The existing rites present various faces of equal relations that exist be- tween I and Others (Liyan) in Lejong, namely intersubjective relations, mutually enrich- ing relations, relations based on openness and relationships that promote love.

The problem that has yet to find a boundary for resolution in Indonesia is how to reconcile religious pluralism. This paper focuses on the problems of religion which are often destructive, reductive and asymmetrical. Religious hegemony that dominates the public sphere is more aggressive, confrontational and egocentric than altruistic and cooperative. The tendency of religious actors to affirm their own religion better than others has triggered the emergence of various kinds of conflict. The face of religion seems to undermine Pancasila as the spirit and breath of the Indonesian people. Start- ing from this problem, the method used in this paper is the literature method. With this method the author grapples with a wealth of knowledge to restore religious life. So, as the findings of this paper, the writer presents a new paradigm that the Indonesian nation needs to be purified and restored. The Indonesian nation must receive the sacrament of reconciliation and this must become a collective consciousness of the Indonesian people. Reconciliation means being able to open oneself to forgive others and create conducive and harmonious spaces for togetherness.

The plague is not something strange in the story of human civilization. Neverthe- less, the plague has always succeeded in delivering dynamic of humanity to the frightening crisis. At least, in his comment about the pandemic Covid-19, Yuval Noah Harari said that pandemic Covid-19 which we are facing right now has dropped almost all sectors in the world to the most crisis moment in its own generation. It is really possible to say this con- dition is capable enough to make humanity in trouble. It wouldn’t be wrong if we say that “hei..we are in big trouble” or “this pandemic is so terrible” and any expression else, but it would be much more dangerous if we are not capable to realize that pandemic Covid-19 has offered the way and chance for us to create the better future in human civilization. This paper is intended to invite us to reflect this Pandemic Covid-19 from a little bit differ- ent worldview, more precisely we may interpret pandemic Covid-19 as a concrete or real methaphor which explain something unknowable by its own knowable way.

As homo religiosus, human being is always looking for the meaning of life, their existence, and also the mysteries of the universe. As time goes by, human being only focus for their self-fullness and self-centeredness and in the end human have lost con- nected with the ultimate reality in which they can get their bearing. Instead of searching for a meaning, man is becoming completely alienated from himself as a being, from the others, and from the transcendental things. In this era, it is important to have a new per- spective and world view about human being itself in the universe. That way is by way of mystic-symbolic language that not provide the objective truth but about how the truth is told or said. Therefore, with this experience or expression, humankind is invited to get involved and participate into which they has been born and never separated from.

Recent cases of discrimination and intolerance have threatened the unity of Indonesia. We may forget that the unity in diversity (Bhineka Tunggal Ika) is a ‘given’ thing for the inhabitants of Indonesia. This article is a descriptive-critical reflection to this given-unity-in-diversity in the light of Pancasila as the practical-philosophy of Indonesian people. In the face of Indonesian people’s ethnicity, race, and religion diversities, a unifying love is needed, which is none other than the Pancasila itself.

The sacrament is a sign of God’s presence in the world. Through the sacrament mankind finds salvation. Men received the sacraments with the help of priests. Therefore, there is a demand for holiness for the priests. The question is, if as a sacrament minister, a priest does not show holiness, can the sacrament still bring salvation? To answer this question, this paper uses the idea of Saint Augustine of Hippo. Saint Augustine insists that the sacrament can still save because Christ works in it. In addition, there is a de- mand for priests to always practice self-sanctification.

Penghormatan Ze Hai Zhen Ren - Dewa Tionghoa Di Tekhai Bio:

The events of 1740 in Batavia brought the Chinese community into a new phase. One of the new chapters that has never been studied is the birth of local gods who are worshiped in various temples. The gods were none other than the Chinese folk he- roes who fought against the Dutch colonialism. Among them are Yiyong gong (義勇公) which is worshiped in the city of Lasem and Zehai zhenren (澤海真人) in various cities in Central Java, such as in the cities of Tegal, Semarang and Pekalongan. The cult of Zehai zenren is wider than the cult of Yiyonggong, even in some circles the Javanese community also respects the figure of Zehai zenren. Zehai zenren can be respected among the Javanese people, especially those who become fishermen because they believe that Zehai zenren is the ‘god’ protecting sailors and traders. In addition to its distribution in Central Java, it turned out that based on field research, it was found that there were Chinese people living in the West Java area who worshiped Zehai zenren as their patron god. That there are local Chinese heroes who can be worshiped whose distribution is wider than the local Chinese Indonesian gods deserves to be investigated. It should also be noted that Zehai zhenren's ‘bodyguards’ are Javanese. Belief in Zehai zhenren that transcends ethnic boundaries can occur because of the closeness of the belief system of the people of Central Java or known as Kejawen with the Chinese belief system. His beliefs are inclusive, build harmony and respect for people who are worthy of respect.

The focal point of the discussion of this research is the relevance of Jean-Jacques Rousseau’s thoughts to online lectures. The basic concept of education according to Rous- seau lies in forming free, independent human beings without pressure or bondage, not for a particular purpose. In other words, freedom is the basic law of education. The covid-19 pandemic has forced lectures to be conducted online. The change in the lecture system from face-to-face to a new system, namely online, has become a reality that is not easy to implement. There are many challenges that occur both from the educational institutions, teaching staff, and students. This happens because lecturers and students themselves do not have a balanced ability to provide or receive lecture material online. The method used in this paper is to analyze the thoughts of the characters in the context of online lectures. This study found that the dynamics of lectures that occurred during the covid-19 pandemic did not work effectively. The teaching staff has not been able to fully provide lecture mate- rial to the maximum and students also cannot absorb the material optimally.

The center of the study of this paper is to explore and understand Armada Riyanto’s ideas about reconciliation and truth. The ongoing political and security dynamics generate new and rich awareness and meaning in the pursuit of peace. The methodology used in this paper is ‘phenomenology’, that is, everyday phenomena become the main source of philosophy. By looking at the political reality from marginal notes, from phenomenological experience, this research comes to the finding that the political concept based on reconciliation and truth is a relevant political program to seek peace. Reconciliation cannot be carried out without revealing the truth and a truth will have a deep meaning in the act of reconciliation. The government and society have a responsibility to cultivate the virtue of peace. The synergy between the government and the community determines the progress of the life of the nation and state.

Science, technology, that now tends to be materialistic, offers humans how to get a truth. It is ironic that such science, tends to reduce other factors that already exist in the world of human understanding. As a result, with all its ambitions, science tries to con- vince humans that some of its fundamental beliefs are a deception. But in fact science, technology has limitations in explaining the truth. This limitation is often closed tightly with opinions so that humans lead to dryness of understanding. There is an effort, more useful to view life or other basic understanding is more lively.

Kebebasan Beragama di Indonesia dalam Terang Pemikiran Barcuh de Spinoza
Yekrianus, Sirilus

kebebasan beragama
This paper pays attention to the issue of religious freedom in Indonesia. Freedom of religion is one of the individual rights of every person. People are free to choose religion according to their minds. By reason, it means that humans recognize the values that are sparked in a religion. The duty of the state is to guarantee religious freedom. In the Indonesian context, freedom of religion is guaranteed in the legal basis contained in the 1945 Constitution. However, it is inevitable that this kind of freedom is also subject to discriminatory treatment. To underline this, Spinoza, a philosopher who greatly respected reason, explained the importance of religious freedom as an individual choice. Freedom of religion according to him should not be restrained by any authority. This paper was written using the literature method which tries to confront Spinoza's thoughts on religious freedom with the issue of religious freedom in Indonesia.

Protecting and ensuring nature is a choice and also a necessity for many people to protect their lives. Everyone is competing and fighting for a beautiful and well-maintained environment. However, the activities that are deployed with all their strength and determination by humans actually lead them to fall into the effort to improve nature and forget a root relationship between nature and humans themselves, namely sublimity. Through the reflection of works in the form of landscapes presented by one of the Indonesian artists, humans are able to be reintroduced to this sublime state to rebuild a full relationship with nature.

Gabriel Marcel
This paper specifically explores the human understanding of participant Gabriel Marcel, which is motivated by the problems surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. Participant human understanding is a form of answer to the problem of human existence in the midst of a sick world. The methodology of this paper is interpretive. The author tries to elaborate Gabriel Marcel's thoughts with the phenomena surrounding the pandemic and also the new world order due to the pandemic. From the results of this elaboration, the author finds that in order to reorganize this ailing world, everyone must be a human participant and not a human spectator. The journey to become a participant human begins with an awareness of his existence as a human being. The concept of human participant Gabriel Marcel must be recognized as a sharp philosophical reflection in understanding human existence. This thought is the starting point for the birth of humans who are aware of their social responsibilities as human participants who always have a heart towards others and the world.

Dampak Radikalisme terhadap Perempuan Masa Kini

Radicalism
Radicalism is a deviant thing and has an impact on women. Women are considered to be the perpetrators in an act of violence such as terrorism. In his understanding, radicalism does not only have its own interests, but is very subject to the perspective of the majority. The notion of radicalism can be seen in terms of religion, social, or violent-conflict. Even women have always been the most affected by the existence of radicalism. Therefore, this study aims to discuss Johan Galtung's conflict transformation theory and Peter Neumann's religious violence. This study uses qualitative methods through literature study and descriptive analysis of current radicalism. The results of this study indicate that what Johan Galtung said is related to conflict theory and Peter Neumann, so there must be a basic reference regarding the impact of radicalism on women in every authoritarian government policy in the name of religion and gender.

Etika Al-Ghazālian dan Titik Temunya dengan Etika Kantian
Viktorahadi, R.F. Bhanu
metode hipotetis, etika mistik, anti-rasio, tasawuf
With his immense intellectual stature and his encyclopaedic knowledge, al-Ghazâli has influenced Islamic thought and defined its practice for nearly nine centuries. Like many legal experts and philosophers, al-Ghazâli divides the universe into the transient world and the eternal hereafter. This world, or temporary existence, is subject to the will of God. It is not governed by a set of scientific laws, but is maintained, governed and driven by the direct and continual intervention of God (rejection of causality). God is not only the creator of the universe and of its attributes and laws (or the cause of existence). He is also the cause of every event in the world, great and small, past, present and future. As a Sufi, al-Ghazâli does have a theory of ethic as a part of his tasawuf discipline. Some experts come to consider al-Ghazâli as a Sufi figure, some other also goes to classify him as a prominent figure of philosophy. This is understandable actually, because from the books he wrote all indicates his interest on both tasawuf as well as philosophy. By considering his books Maqâshid al-Falâsifah or Tahâfut al-Falâsifah, or through his Mi’yâr al’Ilm, one would consider him as a true philosopher. But one might also comes to conclude him as a real Sufi or a true mystic simply by looking at his master piece works such as Ihyâ al-Ulûm al-Dîn, or Kitab al-Arbâ’in dan al-Munqidz min al-Dhalâl.

Comparison of Islamic and Adventist Christian Eschatology
Dilawati, Rika
Eschatology
Islam
Adventist Christian
This study aims to discuss the comparison of life after death (exchatology) in Islam and Adventist Christianity. The research method used in this research is qualitative with the process of collecting data through literature review. The results showed that the comparison of eschatology in Islam and Christianity has a very significant difference, this can be seen in the two holy books, namely the Koran and the Bible. Eschatology in Islam is also known as the end of time or the day of judgment. Therefore eschatology is a day that is feared by every Muslim, because eschatology is a day of vengeance, where all deeds in the world will be counted on that day. While eschatology in Adventist Christianity is a day full of hope that Christians always look forward to. They waited for Christ to come a second time to take His people to the place He had prepared. However, eschatology in Islam is also shrouded in hope for salvation where Muslim belief always boils down to how big the scales of good deeds are while in this world. Therefore, this article provides great wisdom for both religions, where as religious people hope for a good place after death must always be fostered by good deeds and invite rewards as provisions later in the Hereafter.

This article will try to find out why Islam in Indonesia is able to unite various diverse ethnic groups in a unitary state without significant friction? While in Malaysia Islam gives spirit to Malay ethnicity to become the dominant element in all aspects of national and state life without being dragged into chauvinism? Why is it that Islam which is ethnical with certain ethnicities in the Philippines has become a serious deterrent to nationality in both countries? Three cases that together involved elements of Islam, ethnicity and nationalism but showed different manifestations of reaction. In each case Islam plays a different position and function, as a unifying Indonesia, the spirit of Malaysia and undermining the Philippines.

The term 'epistemology' is a term directly related to the field of philosophical debate. As one of the branches of philosophy, it studies science in terms of its definition, the establishment of its types, the determination of its sources and channels and the identification of its limits and limitations. Although these epistemological questions are commonly used in the disciplines of philosophy and the sciences, for some scholars they are also relevant and useful in the field of Islamic law. The following brief study will attempt to elaborate on the epistemological theory of Islamic law by analyzing the thoughts of a prominent Islamic scholar, Harun Nasution, an expert in Islamic philosophy and theology.

After independence, efforts to reconstruct the history of ancient Malaysia recorded by colonial scholars have been made. However, there are still poor explanations. Therefore, the following studies are the study of the history of the Malay community in a new interpretation. The methods used in this study are phenomenological. With this method it was found that the process of independence of Malaya in 1957 did not take place in the short run by the British and its elite, but it took a long time and made little sacrifice. It started in the form of awareness by scholars of Malay nationalism itself which unfortunately has been forgotten or closed their role by chroniclers.

Hambali, Radea Y. A.

liberal Islam
religious thought
Indonesian society
The understanding of freedom of thought in Islam which is the soul / spirit of the liberal Islamic movement that grows in the context of Islamic thinking in Indonesia originates from Islamic tradition; although in its development Western modernization has also colored liberal Islamic discourse. Therefore, liberal ideas need not always be understood in the Western context and by using Western barometers. On the other hand, liberal Islam can be understood in the sense of those who are opposed to revivalism that often discusses orthodox themes that are considered established, such as Islamic teachings on politics, democracy, women's rights, religious pluralism, freedom of thought and ideas about progress. By always re-enacting these themes, liberal Islamic groups believe that Islam will be able to play an important role in the contemporary world. Furthermore, the development of liberal Islam in Indonesia cannot be separated from the context of the development of the understanding of the liberalization of Islamic thought in the Islamic world. Included in this case is the treatment that often discredits liberal Islamic groups that occur both in the Muslim world and in Indonesia.

Tuhan dan Masalah Kejahatan dalam Diskursus Ateisme dan Teisme

Irasionalitas
Kebebasan Manusia
Kejahatan Induktif

Sexual violence
Today, many cases of violence are widely reported in the mass media. The most recent case is the problem of sexual violence that affects children, where most of the perpetrators are acquaintances of the victim. Children become targets of violence because their position is always judged as weak, helpless, and dependent on the adults around them. This study discusses the state and religion's role in protecting children from sexual violence. This research was conducted with a sociological approach through the resource mobilization theory. The results of this study inform the definition of violence, Islamic views on children, and efforts to protect children through the National Movement Against Sexual Crimes Against Children (Gerakan Nasional Anti Kejahatan Seksual Terhadap Anak; GN-AKSA). The conclusion of this study shows that Islamic values that advocate for good care of children can be merged with GN-AKSA as an effort to protect children from sexual violence.

Textual analysis
Human life is closely related to a pluralistic reality. Pluralism is a world reality that cannot be avoided and rejected. Pluralism itself needs to be considered a gift God gives humans. A pluralistic world provides more color to human life. This requires an attitude of inclusiveness in social life so that humans can avoid harmful conflicts. The attitude of inclusiveness can be found in the universalistic spirit of the two major religions. Catholic Christianity and Islam adhere to universalism in spreading their religious teachings. Almost in every part of the world, we can find adherents of Christianity, Catholicism, and Islam. Universalism in both religious teachings requires everyone to be able to join as a member regardless of ethnic and national background. Inclusiveness in the spirit of the universalism of the two religions is often tarnished by the actions of fundamentalist extremist individuals or groups. The particular group's activities certainly cannot generalize the whole teaching in the religion. However, it can be a warning that the echo of exclusivity needs to be echoed again.

This paper will discuss online media sites implementing religious moderation campaigns in Indonesia. The case study in this paper is the online media Harakatuna.com. The research method is qualitative, collecting data through virtual ethnography or online observations of the Harakatuna.com media page and Harakatuna Media's Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook social media accounts. This research found that it is not appropriate if the religious moderation campaign has only been carried out through conventional methods such as seminars, recitations, and workshops. Therefore, Harakatuna.com is present as a campaign agent for religious moderation by taking a role in social media. Consequently, Harakatuna.com carries out counter-narrative radicalism by introducing peaceful religious moderation in Indonesia with digital methods such as webinars, scientific publications, and opinion writing. Furthermore, Harakatuna.com also carries out a counter-ideological role against the Khilafahism ideology that Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia (HTI) echoes. Harakatuna.com carries out the counter-ideology through the Pancasila ideology campaign as the foundation of the nation and state by the values of religious teachings, including Islam. The roles carried out by Harakatuna.com are the actualization of the concept of a Cyber Islamic Environment, a new virtual world environment that can be used for the benefit of Muslims, one of which is the delivery of messages of religious moderation.

This research aims to thoroughly examine the concept of self-interest, human dignity, and the views of the Catholic Church in Indonesia. In the current era of disruption, individuals often pursue the maximization of their self-interests by any means necessary. This condition tends to lead individuals to look down upon others. The research adopts a qualitative methodology based on a literature review. The metadata for this study is sourced from books, online journals, and other secondary sources. The results indicate that by contemplating the meaning of self-interest and human dignity in accordance with Catholic Social Teaching, individuals can reconcile their desires for worldly domination. Thus, this research can contribute to the development of human quality of life in alignment with the teachings of the Church

This research explores the symbols of religious moderation in the daily practices of the community in Rehobot Village, Indramayu, West Java, as a response to the complexity of the pluralistic ecosystem in Indonesia. The main focus is on conflicts between religious communities caused by negative prejudices and violations of Freedom of Religion and Belief. In response, the government has initiated the Moderation of Religion program, aiming to foster an inclusive attitude and uphold human rights amidst religious diversity. The research employs a qualitative approach, utilizing observation, in-depth interviews, and literature review techniques to uncover symbols of religious moderation in Rehobot Village. The findings indicate that everyday practices, such as non-segregated public burials, cross-faith sports activities, and mutual support in religious celebrations, serve as symbols of religious moderation deeply rooted in Rehobot's cultural fabric. Furthermore, the Village Bhinneka policy and the roles of religious leaders as unifiers and promoters of tolerance strengthen religious moderation at the local level. These practices reflect the commitment of the Rehobot community to harmoniously coexist amidst diverse beliefs, creating an inclusive environment that can serve as an example for other communities in fostering tolerance and interfaith dialogue. This research provides profound insights into how symbols of religious moderation can serve as crucial pillars in supporting the pluralistic ecosystem in Indonesia.

Youth Interfaith Dialogue in Everyday Citizenship in Indonesia: Bridging Religious Diversity and Citizenship Challenges
Kusmayani, Anisa Eka Putri
Interfaith Dialogue
Youth Engagement Citizenship
Challenges Religious Diversity
This research explores the role of interfaith dialogue among Indonesian youth in fostering everyday citizenship, particularly within the context of religious diversity. The study draws on the dynamics of interfaith engagement, emphasizing its significance in promoting social cohesion, peace, and civic participation. The framework integrates the "Seven Moments of Inter-religious Dialogue" proposed by J.B. Banawiratma and Stokke's (2017) dimensions of citizenship, including membership, legal status, rights, and participation. Examining the Abrahamic religions context, the research delves into historical challenges and the potential for dialogue to overcome intergenerational religious biases. The study highlights the necessity of understanding religious pluralism and building bridges among communities, particularly within the Muslim-Christian-Jewish framework. In the Indonesian youth context, the research identifies various interfaith dialogue initiatives undertaken by youth organizations across regions. It explores how these initiatives contribute to societal harmony, reduce radicalization, and empower civil society. The research also addresses challenges such as power dynamics and leadership influence in maintaining peace, emphasizing the grassroots' role. Moving beyond religious discourse, the study analyzes the intersection of interfaith dialogue with everyday citizenship issues in Indonesia. It investigates how dialogue addresses challenges related to LGBTQ+ rights, indigenous religious rights, and interreligious marriage. The research argues that interfaith dialogue plays a pivotal role in acknowledging inclusive citizenship, facilitating coexistence, and addressing complex societal issues. The findings suggest that interfaith dialogue not only promotes religious understanding but also enhances civic engagement, contributing to social justice and peace. The research concludes with insights into the potential of interfaith dialogue to bridge gaps between diverse religious and non-religious perspectives, fostering a more inclusive and tolerant citizenship in Indonesia.

This research explores the role of Catholic Youth (Orang Muda Katolik or OMK) in responding to the challenges of intolerance in Indonesia, particularly in the province of West Java. By examining Catholic Church documents such as the "Abu Dhabi Document" and "Christus Vivit," as well as the Pastoral Focus of the Bandung Diocese for the year 2023, this study aims to understand how OMK comprehends and implements the values of brotherhood advocated by the Church. In the context of intolerance, especially in West Java, known as a region with high levels of intolerance, the research also explores concrete steps that OMK can take to build a more tolerant society. The study involves an analysis of OMK identity, with a focus on the characteristics of the millennial generation, and considers the impact of the document "Human Fraternity for World Peace and Living Together" and the results of the 2015 Synod of the Bandung Diocese. The results indicate that OMK plays a crucial role in fostering interfaith brotherhood, emphasizing dialogue, acceptance of differences, and participation in social action. With implications from Church documents, this research provides a strong foundation for OMK to develop a spirit of brotherhood, respect for differences, and engagement in social action as part of their social responsibility. In the context of pastoral guidance, the study highlights the importance of conscience as a moral guide and suggests pastoral strategies that can be applied to help OMK internalize faith values. Thus, this research provides profound insights into the role of the Catholic Church in promoting peace and brotherhood in the midst of religious intolerance. The results can serve as a basis for further development of strategies to address tolerance challenges at the local and national levels.

This study explores the acculturation of Islam and Javanese culture manifested through the Ronda Tetek Tradition in Gombang Village, Sawit District, Boyolali District, Central Java. Initially employed for night patrols, Rontek has evolved into traditional musical instruments and ceremonial practices. Over time, it has acquired an Islamic dimension, transforming into a musical accompaniment for Qasidah or Islamic poems. Employing qualitative methods, including participant observation and in-depth interviews, this research investigates the integration of Islamic and Javanese cultural elements in the Rontek tradition. The findings reveal that Rontek in Gombang Village has undergone acculturation with Islamic traditions, giving rise to a distinctive synthesis known as Javanese Islam. Despite its antiquity, Rontek continues to maintain its allure in Gombang Village, preserving local traditions while embracing Islamic influences.

This article presents Marion’s apologetic arguments about the maturity of Catholicity in facing secularism. He believes that secularism, which impacts moral decadence and the hegemony of secular political power, does not extinguish the spirit of Catholicity but becomes a Catholic moment—a chance for her to bear witness to the radicality of love. Authors use the qualitative research method, by making comparison between the theological results-study of Marion and some other theologians’ study and research (Balthasar, Kevin Hart, and Peter-Ben Smit), after having critically read their theological arguments. The results can be put forward in the following dialectical points of theological arguments. The Catholic Church has a matured experience in living a community of love based on the generous love of the Father. The Church demonstrates its responsibility in the world while contemplating the perfect City of God. The Church is not anti-political but simultaneously does not adhere to the hegemony of power. Throughout history, it has struggled to make a clear separation between religion and the state. The Church embraces the world with its two arms, namely, the Word and the Eucharist.
