Panggilan Allah adalah dialog dan kerjasama antara Allah yang memanggil dan manusia yang menanggapi. Karena panggilan Allah itu misteri, perlu ada pegangan hidup untuk memahaminya, yaitu Kitab Suci. Kisah pemberitaan kelahiran Yesus dalam Luk. 1:26-38 terdapat narasi panggilan Allah kepada Maria karena ada dialog dan kerjasama antara Allah yang memanggil dan Maria yang menanggapi panggilan Allah. Inisiatif panggilan selalu berasal dari Allah dan bersifat pribadi. Tujuannya adalah memberikan keselamatan kepada manusia. Melalui utusan-Nya, Allah memilih Maria sebagai mediator keselamatan sesuai dengan kehendak bebas-Nya. Kehendak Allah pun menjadi hidup jika ditanggapi oleh Maria. Panggilan itu sebuah tawaran sehingga tidak ada paksaan dari pihak Allah. Maria menjawab “Ya” sesuai dengan kehendak bebasnya untuk menyerahkan diri secara total kepada kehendak Allah. Jawaban tersebut bukan berarti Maria telah menyelesaikan panggilannya, melainkan menjadi sebuah konsekuensi yang dihadapi selanjutnya. Dengan bercermin dari panggilan Maria, para imam pun hendaknya dapat menyadari dan memahami proses panggilan Allah yang diterimanya itu.

Abstract

God’s vocation is a dialogue and cooperation between God who calls and human who responds it. Because it is mystery, there should be a means to understand it, such as the Scriptures. In the story of the birth of Jesus in Luke 1:26-38, there is a narrative about God’s calling to Mary because there is a dialogue and cooperation between the God who called Mary and Mary who responded the call of God. The initiative calling always comes from God and it is very personal. The aim is to provide the salvation for all the people. Through His messenger, God chose Mary as a mediator in accordance with His free will. However, God's will be alive when it is perceived by Mary.  The vocation is an offer that there is no compulsion from God. Mary answered "Yes” according to her free will to surrender herself to the will of God. The answer does not mean that Mary has completed her call. She has to face the further consequences. With mirrored from Mary’s vocation, the priests ought to realize and understand the process of receiving the vocation of God.
